Küsten Gemüse. The very best of the northern Germany.

Our products

Küsten Gemüse. Original from Dithmarschen.

Cultivating vegetables has a more than 100 years' tradition in Dithmarschen. The original Kuestengemuese vegetables are cultivated only here, in the largest continuous cole crops cultivation area in Europe. For the good, fertile marshes as well as the fresh maritime climate keeping away pests provide optimal conditions for crisp, healthy vegetables.

Trust creates quality.

Our vegetables are produced by selected farmers only - exclusively, and with many of them we have been collaborating since many years. We support them when planning cultivation, controlling growth and quality, harvesting and processing - up to marketing the products. For our retail partners, that has many advantages - as, for instance, maintaining consistent high quality and sufficient delivery capacities.

Our goals and achievements.

As part of the Gemüsering Group, we support the central declaration of principles on respect for human rights as well as the central sustainability goals of Gemüsering Stuttgart. To emphasise this commitment, our company was included in the certification of Gemüsering Stuttgart in 2022 in accordance with the ZNU Standard for Sustainable Business Practices.

ZNU certification

We are aware of our responsibility to respect human rights within our own company and along the supply chain. Respect for environmental and human rights in our global value and supply chains has therefore been an integral part of our corporate policy and part of our supplier declaration for many years. Our aim is to continue to promote the observance and application of environmental and human rights and to prevent their violation.

Ecology: green electricity
In 2022, more than 20% of the electricity required at the site came from self-generation, with plans to increase this to 30% by 2025. Purchased electricity is sourced 100% as green electricity.
Biodiversity
In 2023, 2 of the planned 5ha of flowering areas were established, and humus build-up trials were also carried out on 5ha. In order to increase biodiversity, 80% of the local production farms are to use the QS module FIN Biodiversity by 2027
Economy: packaging
For products packaged in-house, the materials used are 100% recyclable. We aim to reduce the amount of plastic packaging by 10% by 2026.
Social affairs: school projects
Due to delays in 2021, the monitoring of school projects will be extended until 2025; a new decision will then be made on monitoring beyond 2025.

Our promise from
Dithmarschen.

Quality is our key feature and therefore of top priority. That goes for consumers also: more and more often they ask by whom, how and when their food was produced. We therefore guarantee retraceability of our vegetables from soil to shop - according to national as well as international quality standards.

Certifications

Consumers want absolutely safe vegetables. We make sure of that by adhering to national as well as international quality standards.
